Ruzizi Tented Camp is located in the Akagera National Park along the Tanzania Border. Ruzizi is an up-market tented lodge, built on the shores of Lake Ihema. Ruzizi Tented Camp is owned and managed by Akagera National Park management.

The rolling hills of acacia woodland coupled with scattered grasslands an swamp – fringed lakes along the meandering watercourse combine to create a park of breathtaking scenic beauty, the camp has 9 en-suite tents along the shores of Lake Ihema.

The lodge was designed to blend into eco-environment, natural materials where used to construct the lodge. The lodge is eco-friendly solar powered with a solar hot water system and lighting throughout at night. The park has been rescued from oblivion, game is increasing – thanks to African Park a non-profit charity supporting the rehabilitation of the continent’s most vulnerable wildlife, has successfully translocated lions and black rhinos from South Africa and reintroduced them to Akagera National Park.
