Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge-Volcanoes National Park
Sabyinyo is a classy lodge in the immediate vicinity of Kinigi, set on community land at an altitude of 2,515m on the foot slopes of Mount Sabyinyo, Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge is located close to the park headquarters of Volcanoes National Park only a 10min to the Lodge. The land is owned by the Sacola Community Trust and leased to Governor's camp, a long-serving and award-winning Kenyan luxury safari the camp operator which built the lodge and also manages it. The accommodation consists of 6 luxurious cottages, 2 suites, and one family cottage,
The stylish & well-equipped rooms combine ethnically influenced décor with something of a country house feel, extremely spacious, and come complete with log fire, mini-bar, tea/coffee- making facilities, mini-safe, direct-radio contact with the main building and a fabulously earthy bedroom with tub & shower. The restaurant & lounge area is in the main building & serves a different 3-course set menu daily.
In addition to gorilla tracking, it offers birding expeditions, & trips to Musanze and Lake Kivu & Burera. The steep climb from the car park to the accommodation makes this Lodge highly unsuited to disabled travelers, though it should be perfectly manageable to anybody fit & supple enough to track mountain gorillas.
The main building comprises reception, sitting room with a cozy area, library, fireplace, dining area craft shop, bathrooms and outside balcony with views of the volcanoes.
