Entebbe town is located in central Uganda on the Lake Victoria peninsula.  The town is one of the main entry points to Uganda through the Entebbe International Airport. The town sits on the northern shores of Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake. Entebbe experiences a tropical rainforest climate with no real dry season throughout the year. The town offers great opportunities for day tours.

NGAMBA ISLAND CHIMPANZEE SANCTUARY

Ngamba Island Sanctuary is home to 49 orphaned chimpanzees that have been rescued from various parts of the country. The Island offers an exceptional opportunity for a day trip to closely observe and interact with the chimpanzees in their adopted habitat. The Island is located 23kms off Entebbe Mainland and is operated by the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust.

UGANDA WILDLIFE EDUCATIONAL CENTER (UWEC)

The center is largely famed for being a local zoo that is a popular spot for both local and international tourists. The center showcases a wide range of fauna and flora that you expect to find in the country and it’s a good starting point for any would be tourist prior to travelling to the country side.

The Uganda Wildlife Education center is home to over 120 bird species, 11 big cats and over 20 primates and reptiles.

ENTEBBE BOTANICAL GARDENS

The Entebbe Botanical gardens offer an ideal setting for bird watching, primate setting and identification of plants that have been conserved at the gardens.
The gardens have a collection of over 2,000 species of plants of tropical, sub-tropical and warm temperature zones.
